Post Concert

Here's me hanging with Steve Reich after we just played the hell out of his ''Music for 18 Musicians'' tonight. More later.

Iced Thanksgiving

This was the side of the road on the way to Lake Placid, NY this Saturday. I was taken to my first figure skating show. All of the skaters were impressive. Sasha Cohen wasn't quite as impressive as some of the lesser-known skaters, though. Too much falling. Even I can fall on skates. All in all, it was a rather awesome performance for me to watch.

My car seems to be circling the drain, although I'm not sure if it has passed the event horizon yet. I'm using it today to carry me to teaching, but it is whimpering a little.

I just got the music for a concert on Sunday. Nice. Organization folks...that's how you build greatness.

Gotta concert Wed. night of an hour-long Steve Reich piece. Reich should be there.

Picked up a little sickness in Lake Placid. Where's my tea?

So it begins

This greeted me as I left to teach today. Isn't it a little early for this? I'm now about to teach my last lesson before going on break Yay! At least it's a great student.

Speaking of snowflakes, I've had enough of a number of precious snowflakes. Soon, some of them will be someone else's issue, I think.

Still not dead

I'm not dead. I'm just getting ready for Thanksgiving. I'm wrapping up all of my teaching and rehearsals so I can leave on Tuesday. Wahoo and woohoo. This Thanksgiving, I'll be visiting: New Rochelle, Lake George, and Lake Placid. If at all possible, I will ice skate. I'll try not to break any bones.

Big Steve Reich concert coming up at the end of November. I'll post on it later. We're playing Music for 18 Musicians and Reich will be there. Should be interesting. More to follow...

The Calm After the Storm

Well, I got to the Cape last night only to have the military deployment then guarding the hall tell me to turnaround and go home. At the very last minute, all the Bostonian commuters had to return through Noel to our homes. Today, we have two concerts scheduled to make up for yesterday's cancellation. If I see more trees in the roads, I'll take pictures for posting.

What am I Doing This Very Second?

Funny you should ask. I'm listeing to these guys go through Barber's ''Adagio'' while I wait for my piece to be rehearsed. We've got a concert tomorrow night and another on Sunday. I'm playing Eb Clarinet on Bernstein's ''Symphonic Dances from West Side Story'' and a piece by Michel Dougherty called ''Route 66''. If I remember, I'll give a rundown of how it went later. Until then, word to your mother.
